Maternity, paternity, and adoption leave

If you are pregnant UK law gives employees legal rights including paid time off for antenatal care, maternity leave and maternity pay as well as protection against unfair treatment, discrimination or dismissal.  Further information on your legal rights whilst pregnant can be found on the UK government website.

The University has sections on the Human Resources website relating to maternity, paternity, and adoption leave.  Here you can find out how much time off and how much pay you can expect to receive following the birth or adoption of a child.  There is also a parental leave section which explains what leave you can take if you want to spend more time with your child.
